Report From the Field: Bicycle Tour of Colorado Dispatch 2

Day three is in the books, and it was a scorcher. The 64-mile ride from Carbondale to Hotchkiss took riders over McClure Pass at 8,755 feet, but even at that elevation, the heat was sweltering. By the time we rolled into the small town of Hotchkiss, the mercury had risen above 90 degrees. As we rolled into the final staging area DJ Antone had the music bumping, the mobile bike mechanics were there to help with any issues with our bikes, and the tables were loaded with fresh fruit, ice water and Gatorade.
